My work has won the coveted McSweeney’s Student Short Contest. I still cannot believe it! Curtis Sittenfeld judged. The award was given to my short story, “Forty-two Reasons Your Girlfriend Works for the FBI, CIA, NSA, ICE, S.H.I.E.L.D., Fringe Division, Men in Black, or Cylon Overlords.” It was previously the Inkslinger Award Winner at Buffalo Almanack, where you can read it for free. This also means a future story of mine will appear in McSweeney’s Quarterly.
“Forty-two Reasons” is a prequel to my debut, Technologies of the Self. Brain Mill Press and Buffalo Almanack talk about the two works on “Woodshop Talk.”
